The Lord Jesus Christ was hanging on the cross. He had become a bloody mess, beaten up, rejected, and laughed at. Nails through His hands and feet, He tried to breathe. He endured the shame and ridicule from the spectators, He was dying for. He took our punishment, blame, and shame, so we would never be the same. That is why the Lord Jesus came to this world, to take our sins, curses, sickness, and pain. The Lord Jesus Christ cried out, IT IS FINISHED, and He gave up His Spirit.

John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

WHAT HAS BEEN FINISHED?

Ps. 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

We know and believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for us and took away our sins. Believing in Him and His finished work on the cross will make us righteous and give us new life. We can thank Him forever for what He has done for us. Jesus Christ is Lord! When we study chapter 53 of the book of Isaiah, we discover what the Lord has finished for us. Let us contend for God’s promises through believing in the finished work of Christ.

SIN AND SICKNESS HAVE BEEN FINISHED!

Isa. 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sickness) (H2483) And carried our sorrows; (pain) (H4341) Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

The prophet Isaiah wrote these words 700 years before Christ was born. The prophet Isaiah prophesied that “The Messiah” would bear our sickness and carry away our pain. That means that you can be free from sickness and pain because Christ carried them away for you! The only requirement you need is that you believe in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The word “griefs” should be translated into the word sickness and the word “sorrows” should be translated into the word pain. The word H2483 “holi” means sickness. The word (H4341) “makob” means pain, both physical and mental.

When the apostle Matthew quoted this verse in the Gospel of Matthew, we can read that his translation was more accurate and shows that healing is in the atonement.

Matt. 8:16-17 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses."

You can tell your sickness and pain that their time is over, it is finished. The Lord Jesus Christ has borne your sickness and carried your pain. IT IS FINISHED! When you believe that Christ has forgiven you and taken away your sin, you can also believe that He has borne your sickness and taken away your pain.

Isa. 53:12b Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore (Nasa) (H5375) the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

Isa. 53:4 Surely He has borne (Nasa) (H5375) our griefs (sickness) (H2483) And carried our sorrows; (pain) (H4341) Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

NASA (H5375) means to lift, bear up, carry, and take. Ask the Lord to lift, bear up, carry, and take your sickness and carry it away. If you believe that the Lord Jesus Christ bore your sin, then you can also believe that He bore your sickness. Let us contend for God’s promises through believing in the finished work of Christ.

1Pet. 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.

DEPRESSION, TRAUMAS, AND MENTAL PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN FINISHED.

Christ died for our outward wounds, but He also died for our inward wounds. He carried our physical but also mental pain. Christ took the wounds of rejection, shame, and depression on Himself. Christ was beaten, abused, and traumatized when He experienced this unfair treatment. If you deal with the effects of trauma, abuse, and other deep emotional wounds, you should look at the cross and hear Christ saying, IT IS FINISHED!

Isa. 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

The Lord Jesus Christ was wounded physically, mentally, and emotionally in our place. Next to this, Christ was bruised for our iniquities. To be bruised means to be wounded inside the body under the skin. This means that Christ took your inward wounds to set you free from mental problems, traumas, and deep emotional wounds. IT IS FINISHED!

Christ took the full load of hatred from the people; He took our rejection and our shame. He took our low esteem when people looked down upon Him and laughed at Him. Now you know the truth, and the truth will set you free! Let us contend for God’s promises through believing in the finished work of Christ.

Isa. 53:3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Isa. 53:12b Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

CHRONIC ILLNESSES THROUGH CURSES HAVE BEEN FINISHED!

Some believers know these scriptures we just read and think that these are for others, but not for them. Some deal with chronic illness and don’t think that there is any hope. Some believers think that they are not worthy to be healed, but Christ took your unworthiness on the cross and says that IT IS FINISHED!

Other believers believe that they deal with generational curses and can’t be healed. The Lord Jesus Christ is the curse breaker and became a curse for us so that we can be free. The Bible tells us about the curse of the law, which contains various diseases.

Deut. 28:59-61 then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues--great and prolonged plagues--and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60 Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed.

The good news is that the Lord Jesus Christ came to redeem us from the curse of the law. The Lord Jesus Christ became a curse for us so that all curses can be broken.

Gal. 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),

Every serious and prolonged sickness, disease of Egypt, and modern-day sicknesses can be removed because Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. Tell your serious and chronic illness that IT IS FINISHED! Let us contend for God’s promises through believing in the finished work of Christ.

Ps. 103:2-3 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

Father God, Heavenly Father, please forgive all my sins. Cleanse me with the blood of Jesus Christ, wash me white as snow. Thank You, that You forgive all my sins, transgressions, and iniquities. Thank You, that You heal all sickness and disease. Thank You, that You remove every demon or spiritual attack from my life. Thank You, that You remove any trauma, depression, and mental problems in my life. Thank You, that You redeem me from the curse of the law, and that You break every curse over my life. I believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. IT IS FINISHED! I thank You, and I ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
