We can pray for God’s fire to be released on our spiritual enemies, not like the sons of thunder who liked to consume their physical enemies with fire. (Luke 9:54-55)

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against an unseen enemy. There is no reason to fear, because He who lives in us is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The enemy is deceptive, skilled at hiding like a serpent, camouflaging and doing damage to the church. When we pray for the fire of God to be released, darkness will be exposed, and the works of the enemy will be brought to nothing.

It is the Lord Jesus Christ who wanted to kindle a fire here on the earth. We praise God that He bore the judgment on behalf of all who believe in Him. Yet Scripture reminds us that judgment remains for those who reject the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:18).

Luke 12:49 "I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
